Cultivating Compassion

Anyone

This in-person course is currently postponed.

The saying goes “Treat others as you want to be treated”, but why do we find it difficult to reverse this? Do we criticize ourselves like we would criticize those around us? Discover how to cultivate self-compassion and compassion so we can better connect with ourselves, our well-being and those around us.

This course is for anyone who wants to understand the difference between self-compassion and compassion while highlighting the importance of both in our wellness. Students have the opportunity to learn practical ways to incorporate these into their everyday lives through learning about the inner critic, our goal-orientated society, mindfulness, empathy, self-care and more.

This Cultivating Compassion course was co-produced by people with lived expertise and professional expertise; with course content contributions from Peer Supporters of CMHA Kelowna and The Salvation Army Kelowna.
